On Janaury 13, L’Oréal Paris announced the latest star to appear in ads for the cosmetic giant: No Doubt front woman Gwen Stefani.

“I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oréal Paris girls,” the singer told US-based celebrity magazine People.

“I love playing dress up, on stage or shooting videos, it’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band.”

Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has just released initial details and images of the 612’s successor, the FF.

Set to make its world public debut at the forthcoming auto show in Geneva this March, the all-new Ferrari FF was designed by Pininfarina, showing an entirely new GT sports car concept.

The FF is an acronym for Ferrari Four, which means it is the company’s most powerful four-seat ever, as well as its first ever four-wheel drive car.

World’s highest restaurant opens in Dubai

The highest restaurant in the world opened its doors in Dubai January 23, promising “the world’s best dining out experience.”

Occupying the 122rd floor of Dubai’s enormous Burj Khalifa tower, At.mosphere is the latest record-breaker from the Emirate, which doesn’t seem to have lost any of its confidence following last year’s economic collapse.

Guests can dine on fresh products, while admiring a view more akin to that from an airplane window than a restaurant, some 442 meters from the ground.

But by displaying the clothes on a runway in Beijing on Saturday evening, her first catwalk show outside Europe, and adding a few looks from her spring menswear line, the Italian designer signalled her focus on China’s huge market.

Actresses Gong Li and Maggie Cheung added a bit of high-wattage star power to the show at the Central Academy of Fine Arts museum — a surefire way to maximise local media coverage and get the Prada message to the masses.

LaCie has teamed up with French luxury brand Christofle to produce a silver-plated, pebble-shaped 4GB USB flash drive called “Galet”.

The luxury USB flash drive, which sells for $130, is plated with silver and shipped in its own pouch and gift box from LaCie’s Paris factory.

The drive includes LaCie’s password-protection software and a matching amount of online storage via Wuala, providing extra protection, and is USB 3 compatible.

The world’s most expensive residential apartments at One Hyde Park have been officially unveiled yesterday in London.

Around 350 guests were shown the apartments which reportedly start a £6.5m for one bedroom and go up to £140m for a penthouse. Prices average £6,000 a square foot, and are reportedly the highest ever paid for residential space.

60 percent of the apartments have already been snapped up, mainly by foreign business leaders from the Middle East, Africa, Russia, China and India.

Organizers of Boot Düsseldorf, one of the world’s largest boat shows, have said that demand for space has picked up as the event prepares to open this weekend.

An extra three thousand square feet of space have been added to the show this year, which may not sound like a lot but is being seen as a positive sign for the eight day event, which suffered with the rest of the industry in the economic downturn.

Consumers could see some good from the recession, with the economic conditions challenging and strengthening the varied exhibitors who will be at the event.

Corona Beach Garbage Hotel

Mexican beer brand Corona has launched a new hotel in Madrid, called “Save the Beach hotel” and made entirely of rubbish.

It is constructed out of 12 tons of items found littered on Europe’s beaches and is designed to raise awareness of the plight of coastlines and seas around the world.

Designed by German artist HA Schult, it will be open to visitors in the Spanish city between January 19 and 23, coinciding with a tourism fair held there — a similar exhibit was installed in Rome for the World Environment Day week.
