Tickets for the pop-up version of Noma in London this summer sold out in 2.5 hours. About 3,400 tickets were snatched up May 8.

According to restaurant trade publication Harden’s in the UK, about 10,000 people had pre-registered for the chance to take part in “A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s”.

The chef of the best restaurant in the world will be opening a pop-up version of his Copenhagen restaurant Noma in London this summer to mark the Olympic Games.

At the 10th annual World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in London Monday night, Redzepi cemented his position as the “standard bearer for the New Nordic movement” after his restaurant took home the grandiose title of best in the world.

Elite Traveler, a magazine targeted towards the jet setting, “wealthy elite” has published its ranking of the top 20 restaurants in the world.

The recently launched issue of Elite Traveler’s World’s Top Restaurants magazine gave Alinea the top nod, calling it the best restaurant in the world for its “hypermodern, emotional approach to dining.”

British chef Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck, in Bray came in second for “pushing the boundaries of British gastronomy” and providing a dining experience that excites the senses and reinvents traditional British classics.

Eater.com has just released a list of the 10 hardest restaurant reservations to get in the world — and also offers tips on how to defy the odds and squeak one in.

Not surprisingly, Danish chef Rene Redzepi’s restaurant Noma topped food blog Eater.com’s list, as it receives 20,000 reservation requests a day.

The Copenhagen restaurant has quickly filled the vacuum left behind by the closure of legendary Spanish restaurant el Bulli last year.

Copenhagen restaurant Noma, widely regarded as among the world’s top gastronomic establishments, has launched a city guide.

The restaurant has created a guidebook to the Danish capital in a tie-up with travel booking site Momondo, which is also based in the city.

The guide is written by Noma’s international staff and features reviews of their favorite places in the city, with the restaurant’s manager Peter Kreiner saying that the book contains “angles that may even surprise a native.”

Denmark’s Noma restaurant was named best in the world for a second year running Monday in an international poll dominated by European establishments but with new entries from China, Peru and Russia.

The Copenhagen restaurant of chef Rene Redzepi was voted number one in the S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2011, a list compiled by more than 800 international restaurant industry experts for Britain’s Restaurant Magazine.

Noma hit the headlines last year when it deposed famed Spanish restaurant elBulli from the top spot it had held for four years. ElBulli was not included this year because it is closing later this year.
