WOW readers got a dose of sensory overload courtesy of Seiko at the freshly revamped Ngee Ann City store recently. Lead Designer for Prospex Masanori Kawamura was in town to engage with Seiko fans of all stripes. For this exclusive Friday evening session with WOW, he took everyone through the evolution of the Prospex collection, from its origins as Japan’s first true dive watch in 1968 to its current status as one of the preeminent high-spec tool watches of all time.

His focus on the relevance of details such as the bracelet and the clasp, putting them on par with the robustness of the case and technical properties of the movement was telling. WOW readers got to get up close and personal with the new Prospex Marinemaster models, and casually engage Kawamura on any design subject they wanted. He also posed for selfies with individual watch enthusiasts and signed autographs too.

Joining the party at the event were a couple of other luminaries, Managing Director of Thong Sia Group William Hui and General Manager of Thong Sia Singapore Wilfred Koh; Thong Sia is the exclusive distributor of Seiko watches in the region.
