
The Hyatt Capital Gate hotel, which offers 189 five-star rooms, will finally open its doors December 21 in Abu Dhabi.
The hotel leans a record-breaking 18 degrees — more than four times that of Italy’s famed Leaning Tower of Pisa, which is angled at just under four degrees.
The striking style of the building earned it a place among Guinness World Records last year, despite a two-year delay in the handover.


InterContinental has announced ambitious plans to open 100 hotels in Russia by 2020, an expansion of almost ten times the number operating there today.
The hotel chain announced September 12 that it aimed to capitalize on growing tourism to the country by significantly adding to the number of hotels it operates, across brands such as InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo.
Among the new properties will be Europe’s largest Holiday Inn, a 1,000-room behemoth in Moscow set to open in 2014.


Major hotel brands have been unveiling expansion plans in China at a key conference over the past week.
Many chains are planning to considerably beef up their presence in the country, with a series of deals unveiled this week at the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific.
Hyatt announced a total of 11 new properties, confirming that four new hotels would be opened next year in Ningbo, Jinan, Guiyang and Qingdao, a mix of areas designed to target both business and leisure travelers.


Hyatt is to offer guests hypoallergenic rooms in all of its North American properties, it confirmed October 12.
The group, which operates Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency and Andaz properties, is to roll out approximately 2,000 hypoallergenic rooms in its hotels across the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Branded Respire by Hyatt, the rooms use a system designed to eliminate more than 98% of airborne viruses and bacteria, as well as pollen and other irritants.
