Sofitel Casablanca Morocco

French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was given carte blanche to create a work of art for the new Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche in Morocco.

The permanent art installation, entitled “Fatal Oriental Syncronicity,” has been set up at the center of the luxury hotel’s Le Casart bar.

One of the bar’s walls bears a quote from Michael Curtiz’s iconic film “Casablanca” (1942), uttered by the character Rick, played by Humphrey Bogart: “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world? She walks into mine.”

This is not the first time the luxury hotel chain has called on a major fashion designer for one of its hotels. Karl Lagerfeld is set to design the logo for the future So Singapore, and So Bangkok boasts a Christian Lacroix VIP lounge.
