Forget vintage whiskys and get in line for some vintage chocolates that feature cocoa from Ecuador

Somewhere out there, a lucky individual may have the chance to enjoy a very special bar of chocolate by To’ak, for Valentine’s Day. You may recall that the chocolate company made the headlines for producing the world’s first vintage chocolate.

This time, the vintage chocolate that caught our attention, has helped bring it back to the spotlight. At an eye-watering $345, the 50-gram bar that is touted as the most expensive in the world sold out just before the most romantic day of the year. The 200 pieces that had been created were aged for a total of 15 months in a 50-year old cognac cask, in a process that helps to enhance the flavour of the Ecuadorian cocao.

Founded back in 2007, To’ak announced that it is already open to pre-orders for the next vintage editions. According to the brand, the upcoming concoctions will see chocolate aged in a Laphroaig Scotch Barrel for two years and in a French Oak Cognac Cask for three years. Whatever the case, we look forward to sampling the delicious creations one day.
