Earning a diamond-studded rapport for their exuberant design and craftsmanship, Dolce & Gabbana is favored for its seductive and opulent handicraft

Since their first-ever fine jewelry launch in 2011, Dolce & Gabbana have earned a diamond-studded rapport for their exuberant design and craftsmanship. Skyrocketing out of a humble studio in Milan, the duo currently enlist over 40 expert goldsmiths and jewelers in their high-jewelry workshop, minutes away from central Milan.

Drawing inspiration from Domenico Dolce’s native Sicily culture and the religious iconography of the Catholic church, the Italian luxury fashion house’s first 80-piece range debuted with a £1,500 starting price. Featuring an array of rosaries, jeweled crosses, charm bracelets and necklaces with hand engraved keys, hearts, horseshoes, sapphires, pearl and rubies –  each launch was categorized by one of four themes (Confession, Love, Family and Sicily) and authentic with a personal touch of traditional handicrafts and iconography.

In a recent collaboration with British auction house and the world’s leading art business, Christie’s, Dolce & Gabbana featured couture garments and jewels from its Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, and Alta Gioielleria collections alongside innumerable Old Master Paintings and other decorative arts in a historically-charged exhibition.

Of pieces displayed, the highlights included a multicolored gemstone and diamond necklace, yellow beryl, amethyst and diamond earrings, a blue Sri Lankan sapphire and diamond necklace, Paraíba and rebellite tourmaline and diamond earrings and the Oceanina Paraíba tourmaline and diamond necklace.

The exhibition which honored the seductive and opulent immersion of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and floral influences in fashion, was held from 22nd November to 3rd December 2019 at Christie’s London.
