The New York City Corner Duplex Penthouse that’s owned by fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger recently hit the market. But this exceptional property excels is worth more than the name behind it.

Located at One Central Park South, this $50m Tommy HIlfiger penthouse overlooks Central Park and Fifth Avenue.

The grand salon greets you, extending into Juliet balconies overlooking Fifth Avenue and Grand Army Plaza.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Hilfiger couple paid $25.5 million for the 2 properties, which has been designed to combine into one penthouse.

With its major USD$20 million renovation that started since 2008, the penthouse was restored to its original French-Renaissance grandeur. The facade exudes a tasteful aura of opulence, accentuated with the fashion designer’s distinct design accents in the spacious 6,210-sq-ft.

Combining the elegance and luxury that characterises Tommy Hilfiger, each 12 rooms in the house feature ceilings 35ft high ceilings detailed with custom millwork, stonework and reclaimed hardwood floors. The first floor houses an alcove library, custom panelled stately office, a media room with a decorative fireplace, bistro-inspired eat-in kitchen, a formal dining room with wet bar and a domed tea room with a custom hand-painted mural by Hilary Knight.

A sweeping spiral staircase leads up to the upper level, comprising of four private bedroom suites, each beautifully themed. The master suite sits in a luxurious corner tower, featuring a decorative fireplace, double dressing rooms and a spa-inspired bathroom, plus a private terrace that offers a breezy view Central Park.

The commissioned Hilary Knight, the illustrator of the Eloise books, drew the mural in this dome room.
