Salt Bae’s fitness motivation involves fueling his body to work out, and rewarding it with the food he loves.

Nusret Gökçe, a.k.a. Salt Bae is one of the world’s most famous butchers. Propelling unexpectedly into stardom, with the help of social media, Salt Bae has been a joyous cultural icon ever since 2017. Born in Erzurum, Turkey, to a low-income Kurdish family of mineworkers, Salt Bae’s long-lasting journey with meat was indeed serendipitous. Starting off as a butcher’s apprentice when he was young, Nusret Gökçe is no ordinary butcher, and has since earned his stripes as an revolutionary cook and restaurateur.

Besides showcasing expert knife skills, alongside unique salting techniques, and a keen eye for quality meat, Salt Bae is also renowned for his dedication to fitness and health. Consistently sporting fitted white tee’s, whilst sharing a multitude of his daily activities online which include skipping, boxing and bodyweight training – it would seem that Salt Bae’s intense regime and thoughtful meal planning are indeed the recipe to achieving  a sculpted build.

Prioritizing protein and grains in the form of nuts and oatmeal, Salt Bae admits he is not picky when it comes to his meals, provided he hits the daily quota of protein that he has set for himself. Armed with a simple philosophy which states, “No meal should make you feel guilty if you eat healthy and exercise regularly /​ I have to fuel my body to work out, and work out to eat the food I love,” Salt Bae’s current body fat percentage is a mere 5.8% – proving once again, that he is king of effortless exertion.
