The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has officially been confirmed.

Straight off after a test drive at Nürburgring. Porsche development driver Jörg Bergmeister went for a little spin with the car on the 20.832km and 20.6km loops with a time of 7 minutes and 09.3 seconds for the former, and 7 minutes and 04.511 seconds for the latter.

The GT4 RS is 23 seconds faster than its little brother, the 718 Cayman GT4. The prototype car was fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres — which will be an option once the car is available — and was equipped with a racing seat.

Porsche hasn’t revealed the technical details of the car, but it is likely to be a more powerful version of the GT4 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. And just like the 911 GT3 RS, the GT4 RS has a swan-neck spoiler.

There are also NACA ducts on the bonnet, a swollen front bumper, and carbon-ceramic looking breaks on the wheels.

When speaking about the car, Bergmeister said: “It feels as nimble as a go-kart on mountain roads you really have had to experience the breathtaking noise it makes for yourself.”

The GT4 RS is scheduled for a November release.

Another spectacular car in production is Rolls-Royce first-ever fully electric vehicle, the Spectre. Scheduled for release in 2024, described as the “first super-luxury car of its type”. Rolls-Royce plans to go fully electric by the end of the decade in 2030.

Another first in the world, French start-up Moonbike is making the world’s first electric snowbike. 250 of such bikes will be delivered to buyers in December this year, with a second batch available in 2022.
