The first quarter of 2022 has been nothing short of exciting and impressive for Gucci. The Italian fashion house has debuted its second chapter with The North Face, delved into the metaverse with ultra-limited NFTs alongside Superplastic and opened its fourth Gucci Osteria restaurant in Seoul.

Additionally, the luxury brand has also unveiled the highly acclaimed Gucci Love Parade campaign and released its second High Watchmaking collection in celebrating 50 years of Gucci Swiss Timepieces. More excitingly, the fashion house presented the glamorous Exquisite Gucci fashion show during Milan Fashion Week, where its partnership with leading sportswear brand Adidas was confirmed.

Once again, creative director Alessandro Michele shows the world that his visions and creativity have no bounds. Specifically, Michele expands further on Gucci’s eclectic aesthetic and gears up for the perfect blend of sports and luxury.

The latest collaboration from Gucci is with the Major League Baseball association, slated to drop on 22 April. The collection will be exclusively available through Gucci’s Vault, the brand’s experimental online concept store launched last year.

Prior to the launch, the luxury brand teases fans with its recent Instagram posts. Other than showing some select pieces from the surely coveted collection, Gucci’s models are pictured and decked out in the brand’s signatures while ‘dropping’ the clothes.

Inspired by Michele’s New York Yankees baseball cap, the collection will feature a lineup of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. There will also be tailored and sportswear style pieces.

On the apparel clothing, branding from MLB teams — from New York Yankees to Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants — adorn elevated varsity jackets and plush hooded jackets. With a chic, sporty surprise, playful material like snakeskin and green sherpa decorate co-branded caps.

Gucci’s relationship with MLB dates back to the luxury fashion house’s fall/winter 2018 presentation, followed by a limited-edition Yankee capsule collection in 2019.
