
A Renaissance palace grafted onto the top of an ancient Roman theatre is up for sale in Rome for €32 million ($42 million).
Its asking price is thought to make it the most expensive property currently on sale in the Italian capital, and one of the most expensive in Europe.
The 11,000 sq ft property has frescoed staterooms, a ballroom, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a library, a dining room, a terrace, a separate penthouse and cellars.


The daughter of a Russian billionaire has broken New York real estate records by paying $88 million for a huge Manhattan apartment, Forbes magazine reported.
Yekaterina Rybolovleva, daughter of former fertilizer magnate Dmitry Rybolovlev, paid full asking price for the multiroom spread at 15 Central Park West.
This is a record for an individual transaction in a city renowned for pricey property. The record was previously owned by Sanford Weill, a former chairman of Citigroup.


The Martha’s Vineyard estate that President Barack Obama and his family have rented for their past three summer vacations has sold to British architect Norman Foster for $22.4 million.
The property is known as Blue Heron Farm. It has 28½ acres of land in Chilmark, Mass., and an additional 3.8 acres in Tisbury.
The property includes two large homes, equestrian facilities, a tennis court, a basketball court and a par-three golf course.


An island created in 1890 by King Christian IX is now for sale. Middelgrundsfortet is the largest artificial island, not connected to land, in the world.
The island, located only 15 minutes off the coast of the Danish capital, is approximately 70.000 m2 with a built up area of approximately 15.000 m2.
During recent years the fortress has primarily served as a hotel, seminar and conference venue.


A California mansion could become the most expensive US property to be sold at auction when it goes on the block next month with a starting bid of $22 million.
The 10,500 square-foot beachside house — originally listed at $65 million — includes six bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms, a theater, a 75-foot (25-meter) two-lane lap pool, a gymnasium and a library with an aquarium.
The winning bidder would count Tom Hanks, Barbra Streisand and Sting as neighbors after moving into “Billionaire Beach,” part of the upscale coastal town of Malibu, near Los Angeles.


The Beijing government has halted sales of the most expensive luxury apartment complex in the Chinese capital and launched an investigation into the developer for possible “profiteering”.
The high-end penthouse in Beijing’s Haidian district had an asking price of more than 300 million yuan (US$46.2 million), or 300,000 yuan (US$46,300).
Beijing’s housing authorities on 3 June suspended the sale of the unit, along with 22 other units in the Diaoyutai No 7 Complex.
