The latest collection release highlights Warhol’s artistic range, featuring imagery from works in a variety of media including silkscreening (Elvis, Advertisements), film (Empire) and hand-drawing (Telephone, Do It Yourself Flowers).

Sweden Absolut Art Collection is displayed for the first time in Korea at Gallery Yeh, Garosugil, Sinsa-dong from 12 to 25 April, 2011.

The vodka brand’s Art Collection, a series of interpretations of the Absolut bottle, has been growing since the 80s and feature works by artists including Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois and Francesco Clemente.

The Absolut Art Collection has a portfolio of over 800 original collaborations, the first of which was commissioned from Warhol (above) in 1985.

A portrait of Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor by Andy Warhol is expected to fetch up to $30m at an auction in New York.

“Liz #5″ is owned by hedge-fund manager Steven Cohen. The 1963 silkscreen will be sold at Phillips de Pury at its contemporary art sale on May 12.

The portrait shows the legendary actress smiling and her eyelids covered in blue eye shadow.

A colossal self-portrait by “pope of pop” Andy Warhol has sold for $17.4 million at Christie’s in London, doubling pre-auction expectations.

The recently discovered 1967 piece, which measures 1.8 metres square, depicts Warhol with a hand to his mouth in what the auction house called “one of the most representative and iconic images of the artist”.

“It has been an incredibly exciting journey to work with a previously unknown work by Andy Warhol, particularly one with such historic importance,” Francis Outred, head of Post-War and Contemporary Art, Christie’s Europe said.

New York‘s storied Chelsea Hotel, the classic haunt of artists and hell-raising performers, is for sale and, perhaps, so is its soul.

The 12-floor building with the neon sign “Hotel Chelsea” is a landmark in Manhattan thanks to its long list of famous residents.

Playwright Arthur Miller and singers Janis Joplin and Patti Smith were among those living there. Poet Dylan Thomas died there, as did Nancy, the girlfriend of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious.

Two matching portraits of princess Diana and Prince Charles by pop art icon Andy Warhol have gone on display for the first time since 1982, ahead of being sold.

The paintings show Charles in naval attire against a blue background. His first wife Diana wears a formal dress and is pictured against a pink background.

They were made using synthetic polymer and silkscreen ink on canvas and marked the couple’s wedding in 1981.
