New Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E. Limited Edition of 200 Pieces

The New Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E. is a limited edition model bearing design codes of the latest Range Rover Evoque, the 3rd collaborative series

Bearing the an openworked dial based on the wheel design of the Range Rover Evoque, the new Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E. is a limited edition series of 200 timepieces which takes the 3 year partnership between the Le Locle manufacture and carmaker to the next level.

Since 2015, Zenith has been associated with Land Rover, launching the Chronomaster El Primero Range Rover Velar but save co-branding emblems, the Zenith timepiece did not bear any shared aesthetic codes. For the new Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E., design elements remenescient of wheel spokes of the Evoque make the latest Zenith watch from the Defy Classic collection a recognisable, undeniable, accessory for the next-generation Range Rover Evoque

“A key component of the new Range Rover Evoque is Desirability. The new Zenith Defy Classic Range Rover watch represents a step change in collaborative watch design, the result being a highly desirable timepiece and a fitting tribute to the Zenith and Land Rover collaboration.” – Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer

Admittedly, the latest Zenith Defy bears a passing resemblance to the highly exclusive Zenith Defy Lab which first debuted in 2017 and then launched as a limited edition set of 10 late last year with plans for serialised production in 2018. That said, as the year comes to a close, a series production Defy Lab with in-house made caliber ZO 342 automatic operating at 15Hz has yet to materialise. The new Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E. with openworked dial mirrors the high tech sibling slightly, driven by a new Swiss automatic Zenith in-house skeletonized caliber Elite 670SK with silicon escape-wheel and lever, and a satinized Artic Petro blue rotor, while not quite the same performance specs, it’s still a fairly advanced calibre.

“If Zenith was a car it would definitely be a Range Rover! Both are recognised as icons in their fields. Both share the same values as well as a number of key assets, including charisma, technical refinement and remarkable performance. Both have innovation in their very DNA. The Defy and the Range Rover are both desirable, luxurious trademarks and pioneering cornerstones of their industries objects with which there is an immediate emotional connection. Both are inspired by the past, while looking firmly to the future.” – Julien Tornare, Zenith CEO on the latest Zenith Defy Class Range Rover S.E.

The limited edition, 200 piece, 41mm time only three hand watch with skeletonised date wheel displays Rhodium-plated and faceted hour markers and hands with SuperLuminova with a power reserve of 48 hours.
