The Most Sought-After Jordans Are Initialed By Travis Scott

As the co-creator of the world’s most coveted Air Jordans in existence, Travis Scott’s love and respect for the industry has not gone unrecognized.

There are few artists so divisive in their music and success, who have garnered influence so vast that they enter the realm of Kanye West and Travis Scott-like-status. With fans from all over the world, riled up to scrutinize, analyze, and glorify, his every move, fit, performance, album, single, and interview, Travis Scott is undoubtedly the poster-boy artist of this generation.

Whether you love him or hate him, these polarizing opinions only work to launch him further into an endless abyss of stardom. From the Wish You Were Here Tour to an electrifying performance at the Superbowl, Travis Scott is revered for his ability to not only put on a show, but create an experience. These experiences – which include reviving the childhood amusement park, Six Flags AstroWorld, so each stage was decorated in a fashion reminiscent of the theme park with small functioning Ferris wheels and roller coasters – have earned him a reputation for conceptualizing the ‘Greatest Shows on Earth’.

I don’t necessarily agree, but I wouldn’t rebuke anyone who argued that Travis Scott is a lyrically limited “turn up rapper” with a stagnant sonic progression and reliance on fans injuring or hurling themselves off balconies to get media coverage, whilst the same song plays ten times on loop at every show. That said, perhaps like all art ever created, Travis Scott’s records are subjective and an acquired taste.

Luckily for those of us who prefer our music technical yet somewhat introspective, and who rather steer clear of sampled or repetitive beats, Travis Scott is anything but a one-dimensional character. Wherever music fails to satisfy, fashion, personality, relatability, and ambition, are quick to compensate.

Having become so enormously popular that selling them is hazardous to stores, Travis Scott’s Nike collaborations are amongst The RealReal’s top 5 sneakers with the best resale value. More than mere footwear or trend, sneakers are a lifestyle – one that’s worth anywhere from $200 to $4,000, and beyond.

While clearly, there is no scientific evidence or research to explain why Travis Scott, his brand, or his collaborations are so popular, it is clear that the artist commands immense gravity, as a result of the “perfect storm” which brought upon his success. Often described as a vibe individuals are trying to emulate or achieve, it is clear Travis Scott’s influence has transcended his physical form, morphing into a lifestyle, religion, or series of decisions which fans hope will bring them closer to his image.

Regarded by Stadium Goods’ chief marketing officer, Yu-Ming Wu, as a rare breed with a deep appreciation for the sneaker culture, Travis Scott is revered for his effort to “bring back older, hyped sneakers which help educate new heads and remind the old heads. His love and respect for the industry is thus a big part of his sneaker cult following.”

Unveiling an affordable Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 alternative in “Dark Mocha”, this general release version of the 2019 collaboration, worth $170, marks the artist’s commitment to inclusivity. Set to drop on October 31st, the Air Jordan 1 High “Dark Mocha” features a white leather upper with black overlays across the forefoot and brown detailing on the heel, alongside a black Swoosh on the side, black Wings logo at the collar, and a grey Jumpman logo on the tongue.
