Chinese Valentine’s Day, referred to as Qixi Festival, is happening on 14 August. This annual event celebrates the folktale titled “The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl”. The tale tells of a forbidden romance between Niulang and Zhinü, and how once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th of the lunar month, the pair would reunite.

To commemorate Qixi Festival, luxury brands have curated a collection of limited-edition items for couples to join in the celebration. Below, we have compiled a list of the latest collections that you can purchase for your significant other as a token of love and appreciation.

In celebration of Qixi Festival, Italian house Gucci has released a new collection called Gucci Les Pommes. The accessories and selection of ready-to-wear are embellished with an apple-and-heart motif that juxtaposes cleverly with the brand’s classic monogram. Accompanying the collection is a campaign that features Chinese supermodel Ju Xiaowen, Lucas (member of WayV and SuperM) and others. The group of characters are seen wearing pieces from the Gucci Les Pommes collection.

The collection is available in the Singapore Gucci Paragon store and online.

The House of Prada explores the concept of gifts through an original reworking of the Qixi legend. Unique to this special collection is the use of crystals that are adorned on familiar silhouettes such as the iconic Prada Cleo, loafers and plumps. Fronting this campaign is Cai Xu Kun, the musician and multi-talented artist.

Karligraphy-hearted pattern punctuates the collection and aside from the accessories, a sweater and cardigan are also available for that matching couple look.

The scent opens with a powdery note that gives way to the floral heart centre notes that blend in with iris while the deep white flowers base notes leave an impression of jasmine. “The caress of a note of Iris and slightly animalistic Jasmine combine to express the excitement of passionate love.”

The La Collection Privée Dioramour is available exclusively at La Collection Privée Christian Dior boutique at ION Orchard.
