Set across an endless sea of sand dunes, creative director Anthony Vaccarello unveiled his latest Spring/Summer 2021 collection in an engaging video format by Nathalie Canguilhem, in collaboration with French musician, Sébastien Akchoté-Bozović on 15th December 2020. The full show which aired through Saint Laurent’s social media platforms, represented an invitation to escapism, and was dedicated to the freedom of movement.

Through incorporating a nostalgia-inducing range of iconic pieces from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, the all-new Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2021 collection featured this generation’s biggest influencers and stars, such as BLACKPINK‘s Rosé, Lily Collins and Kaia Gerber, sporting key pieces from the new season which most notably included a pair of bike shorts. Hitting just above the knee, these shorts boast a touch of subtle branding with the iconic YSL logo stitched into the hem.

Showcasing the wildest combinations of juice purple panty-shorts, off-the-shoulder nude tops with ruffled sleeves, polka-dot stockings, straight tailored blazer-dresses, and an abundance of floral and leather pieces, complemented by the tallest and definitely not desert-friendly footwear – YSL has once again surpassed the unparalleled lengths models and designers are willing to go in order to put on a groundbreaking show.
