Italy says “Ciao!” to Singapore at the upcoming FIND — Design Fair Asia — taking place from 22 to 24 September 2022 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. FIND will be the key highlight for the reimagined Singapore Design Week with the aim of creating a global design moment in our tiny Red Dot. FIND will accommodate physical and virtual visitors where 500 of the leading brands in the industry come together across three design-inspired days.

FIND hopes to bring some of the best in Italian design to our shores and showcase some of the innovative concepts designed by preeminent Italian furniture and lighting brands. FIND will also present some of the new and emerging Asian designers to display at the EMERGE @ FIND pavilion. Here, through the help of DesignSingapore council, some 50 fledgling designers will showcase their work to a global audience, too.

Part of the esteemed audience includes tastemakers and key opinion leaders such as Tony Chambers, founder of creative agency TC & Friends and former editor-in-chief of Wallpaper*, not forgetting Yoko Choy, creative consultant and China Editor of Wallpaper*. These individuals will curate FIND’s content and contribute to its positioning as the definitive platform for design in Asia. In their presence, they will also be joined by architect André Fu on FIND’s global advisory board. The famous Hong Kong designer will be a keynote speaker at the fair. There’s also Interni magazine editor Gilda Bojardi who has come on board as another curator and collaborator of FIND.

This collaborative effort would not be possible for Italy’s and Singapore’s deep commitment to trade and investment. The Italian government is always a vital ally of Singapore as it endeavours to forge a new wave of partnerships and collaborations in Asia. This helps to provide necessary good work to also drive progress in sustainability, innovation, and the community.

This unique design fair will showcase a capsule collection of the icons of Italian design put together by Andrea Cancellato, the Director of the Milan-based ADI Design
Museum. ADI, the Italian Association of Industrial Design, known for hosting the highly prestigious and longest-running Compasso d’Oro ADI Awards — since 1954 — will be presenting the awards at FIND this year.

As a hallmark of Italian quality, the “Made in Italy” is a commitment to the nation’s belief in creating timeless, inimitable design with a nod to using high-quality materials and tapping on artisans to create intriguing objects. Italy always celebrates good design across many industries such as fashion, automobiles, art, furniture, and lighting, to name a few. This Italian collaboration with Singapore’s design scene also fosters a deep exchange of trade as well as sharing of ideas between the East and West.
