Delve into fashion-led brands to literally “clothe” your abode sophisticatedly. Here’s what you can discover from some of the leading brands in fashion who have homewares and accessories to jack up the style quotient in your interiors.
Coffee Tables are a great way to make an impression. The Metropolis coffee table designed by Atelier Oï for Fendi Casa is all about making a statement while you convene with your friends over drinks and nibbles. The oxidised metallic base oozes a chic geometry style all thanks to the sculptural arches which form the legs. The iridescent glass top adds lustre and sophistication too.
There’s the Earring coffee table inspired by Fendi’s signature artisanal heritage of femininity. A woman’s must-have earrings materialised into a functional coffee table made from metal and marble. This beautiful juxtaposition of materials, shape, colour, and texture could not have been possible without its talented designer Cristina Celestino. The coffee table is offered in two different heights and top sizes, plus an array of finishes and variations of marble.
Maria Grazia Chiuri is a woman who looks to the future but is inspired by the past. Her “Toile de Jouy” collection of flatware and serve ware boasts French savoir-faire and Dior style through depictions of the wild bestiary. The collection offers dinner, dessert, bread plates, not forgetting, platter, soup tureen, salad bowl, tea, and coffee sets imbued with intense blue sketches. This hue pays homage to Christian Dior’s key colours.
Created in Limoges, a French city famous for its time-honoured porcelain objects, these pieces are formed from moulds, where skilful hands worked each item. Every detail of the enamelling to the painstaking painting process of leaf-decorating is time-consuming and tedious. The illuminating collection definitely honours Dior’s tradition of entertaining at home, and takes it up a notch to an art form!
Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection came to life recently at its boutique opening on Corso Venezia 7 and Via Durini 23 during Milan Design Week 2022. The collections – Blu Mediterraneo, Leopardo, Carretto Siciliano, and Zebra — materialised into an array of objects for the home such as fabrics, table accessories, furniture, and other decorative objects that evoke the spirit of the Dolce & Gabanna lifestyle.
For fans, they will be enamoured by the twill and duchesse cushions, mouth-blown Murano glasses, printed quilts, and Sicilian ceramic plates to complete the look. Accessorise further with scented candles and lacquered wood items that showcase the best of Italian craftsmanship. Add pizzazz to your interiors with these arresting pieces if you intend to revitalise your ambience.
The feted French fashion brand flaunted its 2022 homeware collection during Milan Design Week, mainly the Soleil d’Hermes tableware which is a cheery-looking porcelain service highlighted in a single bright yellow shade; not forgetting the Pli’H Centrepiece which is made from carefully cut and folded bridle leather.
The fine lines are hand-painted and held together with minimum stitches. These delightful pieces will add oomph to your table setting while your guests admire the handiwork and artisanal quality. Great for creating a conversation during a dinner gathering!
