The Singapore International Jazz Festival (SING JAZZ) 2018 Returns

Asia’s premier international festivals of jazz and jazz-inspired music, SINGA JAZZ 2018, will bring together world-class acts and Grammy Award-winning artists at the iconic Marina Bay Sands for music-lovers to experience and enjoy the biggest names in music today.

The 5th Edition of Singapore International Jazz Festival 2018

The Singapore International Jazz Festival (SING JAZZ) 2018 returns for the fifth year running and the event will kick-start on 6th April at the iconic Marina Bay Sands.

Spanning across multiple stages around the integrated resort, the three-day extravagant event will comprise 12 mega acts, 30 hours of music and the curated programme line-up is set to excite over 20,000 fans.

On Friday night, visionary French artist Sebastian Tellier and Brazilian guitar legend and Paulinho Garcia will grace the Main Stage, whilst internationally renowned DJs Sasha and Ferry Corsten will elevate the after-party activities at The Late Show. In addition, four more new acts will be added to the existing Mega Acts, featuring Sebastien Tellier, Paulinho Garcia, Ferry Corsten, and Sasha performing on Friday, April 6.

‘Super Saturday’ features a stunning programme comprising five-time Grammy Award-winning soul singer Lalah Hathaway, and jazz-pop genius Jamie Cullum on The Main Stage, with legendary hip-hop and soul artist Ms. Lauryn Hill headlining The Late Show.

NEW: SING JAZZ Festival Village 

An exciting addition to 2018 is the creation of a Festival Village situated at the Event Square on the Ebenex Stage by the Marina Bay waterfront. The fringe event will be used as a platform to showcase 16 local and regional bands and will run from Wednesday 4 April to Sunday 8 April from 2pm to 10.30pm.

Not only can the general public catch these live performances free of charge each day, but food and beverage will also be available in the casual and fun setting, offering a variety of music styles across all four days:

  • Wednesday – Swing Jazz Night
  • Thursday – Latin Fiesta
  • Friday – Regional Jazz Stars
  • Saturday – Jazz / Soul / Funk / R&B
  • Sunday – Jazz / Soul / Funk / Blues

Local bands performing are Maricelle, Gareth Fernandez, Orange Cove, Ireson, Havana Social Club, Digit, Latin Fantasy Band, Danial Chia Trio, Jazz Academy, Cold Cut Quartet, whilst regional bands will include The Carpio Brothers Quintet (HK), New Sound (MY), Sax in the City (ID), Dua Empat (ID), Koh Mr. Saxman and the Tekeshi Band with guest vocalist James Flynn (TH & AUS), Washing Machine (AUS).

Committed to supporting young talent, SING JAZZ brings back its popular Jazz Academy which runs alongside the festival from Friday to Sunday offering a series of masterclasses in instrumental and ensemble formats. The faculty leaders this year will be members of soul sensations, Incognito who will offer insights and inspirational mentorship sessions.
