Glen Kessler takes a deeper look into the ubiquitous computer and reveals a fascinating beauty of the world within. Using the medium of paint to reinterpret computer circuit boards, the artist compares the intricate boards to our city landscapes. Aptly titled, The Modern World, this series encapsulates the merging of the two worlds, presenting an accurate representation of this day and age.

Rapid urbanisation and our reliance on technology has been a contentious issue. The artist took interest in this topic, which inspired him to create his works. The idea is, at first glance, one sees a city landscape. But after considerable examination, one realises that the painting is in fact a computer circuit board. It’s these magic moments of realisation that makes the artwork complete. The artist skilfully integrates the two and provokes the thought of the relationship between technology and humans.
