Shot earlier this year, we finally have a look at Martin Scorsese’s spot for Chanel’s fragrance for men, Bleu, starring French actor Gaspard Ulliel.

The one minute advert was released yesterday, and it features all the grit and energy that the legendary director is famous for.

The tagline is “Be unexpected.” It features a young man, French actor Gaspard Ulliel, deciding to do just that, presumably after dabbing on a touch of Bleu.

“Chanel has a tradition several decades long of working with the most prominent movie directors in the world,” Andrea D’Avack, president of Chanel Fragrance and Beauté, said.

“To work with Martin Scorsese, who is one of the best, if not the best movie director alive today, is a privilege Chanel has been seeking for quite some time.”

Created by the brand’s house perfumer Jacques Polge, the fragrance will feature notes of pink peppercorn, citrus, peppermint, nutmeg, vetiver, grapefruit, cedar, labdanum, jasmine, incense, patchouli, ginger and sandalwood.
