“What’s better than a Louis Vuitton monogram bag? A Louis Vuitton bag with your own monogram on it.”
That’s the thinking behind the house’s Mon Monogram service (which means My Monogram in English).
Louis Vuitton has been allowing customers to personalize luggage and smaller items like wallets for a while, but you can now put your initials on its signature Speedy 30 or Keepall Bandoulière 55 bags.
Marc Jacobs created a collection full of accessories for the Louis Vuitton fall 2009:
Lovely handbags, exciting shoes, bejeweled satin leggings, necklaces modeled after paper garlands, stunned gloves mixed with ladylike pearls of all sizes and even bunny ears for playful ladies.
And of course the gilded monogram, the protagonist of every collection.
Louis Vuitton have launched two new patented diamond cuts based on their iconic monogram flowers - a rounded-cut flower diamond, and a pointed-cut flower diamond.
The cuts which are patented took over three years to develop. The LV diamonds have between 61 and 77 facets, and are set into various pieces of jewelry, including a necklace with 108 carats of diamonds retailing at $4 million.
Brooches, rings and necklaces featuring the monogram cut diamonds will also be available. The collection has been named “Les Ardentes”, which translate as “the blazing.”

The ad print from the Louis Vuitton fall winter campaign is out : the luxury brand has brought back supermodel Eva Herzigova with a Monogramouflage bag, who starred in last season’s Richard Prince-themed ads.
The futuristic new ads, shot by fashion photog duo Mert and Marcus, feature the latest line of Vuitton bags including the new Takashi Murakami “Monogramouflage” design : They really did a great job because this look highlights accessories and the angle of the shot emphases her adoration of the bag.
The Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Zippy Coin Purse, which comes in Black or White; were finally released in Singapore in April 2008 after a long anticipated wait.
First came the one in Monogram Canvas, followed by versions in Epi, Damier Ebene and Damier Azur and finally the Monogram Multicolore ones.
There was even a special limited edition one that was launched to mark the opening of Hong Kong’s Louis Vuitton boutique at 5 Canton Road (all the guests received one for free!).
2008 marks the tenth anniversary of Vertu and to mark the occasion they have released a special collection of monogrammed Constellations. The Monogram Constellation collection feature a special fine grain leather which is monogrammed with the Vertu V in a process which takes four hours to finish each hide which is then finished with a special protective layer. Five variants will be available in Pewter, Green, Red, Skye Blue or Cerise colored leathers, the collection launches on April 1st.
