
François Pinault, founder of luxury conglomerate PPR, has just paid $32 million for a historic mansion in the Chelsea neighborhood of London.
It was designed, according to The Telegraph, in 1868 by Philip Webb, the ‘Father of Arts and Crafts architecture.’ It also has triple-height ceilings.
The house was previously owned by Professor Bernard Nevill who bought the house for approximately $110,000 and spent over “30 years perfecting the interior”.

The 19th century neoclassic private mansion of the House of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin located in Reims (France), has been entirely restored.
The Hotel du Marc has had a complete freshening up, from the façade which was severely damaged in the First World War, to the updated interior design.
The renovation work has involved many different talents, ranging from professionals who specialize in historic preservation to artists and renowned designers such as Mathieu Lehanneur, Pablo Reinoso, Fredrikson Stallard and the Campana Brothers.


A California mansion could become the most expensive US property to be sold at auction when it goes on the block next month with a starting bid of $22 million.
The 10,500 square-foot beachside house — originally listed at $65 million — includes six bedrooms, nine and a half bathrooms, a theater, a 75-foot (25-meter) two-lane lap pool, a gymnasium and a library with an aquarium.
The winning bidder would count Tom Hanks, Barbra Streisand and Sting as neighbors after moving into “Billionaire Beach,” part of the upscale coastal town of Malibu, near Los Angeles.
