Longchamp has presented the film of its Spring 2013 campaign. The French luxury brand puts the focus on models Liisa Winkler and Coco Rocha — the face of the brand for three seasons — as they dance to the Bee Gees’ “You Should Be Dancing.”

French luxury handbag maker Longchamp is eyeing a huge expansion in China despite the country’s economic slowdown, its chief executive said as the firm opened a new store in Hong Kong Wednesday.

The UK has topped a ranking of countries with the highest affinity for luxury handbags, while labels including Coach, Louis Vuitton and Chanel top a compilation of the most searched luxury handbag brands globally.

This first digital analysis of the luxury handbag market, dubbed World Luxury Index Handbags, has been presented by Paris-based luxury executives’ online community Luxury Society and international company Digital Luxury Group.

Rising London-based designer Mary Katrantzou has collaborated with French label Longchamp for a collection of Eastern-influenced handbags.

Designed with the vision “When East meets West”, the line continues Katrantzou’s signature patterned aesthetic, and includes an array of totes adorned in Eastern-inspired motifs such as orchids and paper lanterns.

With a pre-exclusive launch scheduled January 23, the line will be available at Parisian boutique Colette, whose e-commerce site offers international shipping.
