The record for the world’s tallest tower is set to be broken yet again… The new skyscraper will measure one kilometre high and will be located in Saudi Arabia.
The tower will outdo Gulf neighbour Dubai, which inaugurated its own record-breaking skyscraper the 828m Burj Khalifa less than two years ago.
The Saudis awarded a more than $1 billion contract for a spire, to be named the Kingdom Tower.

Occupying the 122rd floor of Dubai’s enormous Burj Khalifa tower, At.mosphere is the latest record-breaker from the Emirate, which doesn’t seem to have lost any of its confidence following last year’s economic collapse.
Guests can dine on fresh products, while admiring a view more akin to that from an airplane window than a restaurant, some 442 meters from the ground.

Beijing authorities plan to build a “seven-star hotel” modelled after Dubai’s Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building – in a $1.3 billion joint project with Saudi Arabia.
The hotel will be erected in western Beijing‘s Mentougou district some 30 kilometres (18 miles) from the Chinese capital’s centre.
The Saudi side is expected to foot the entire bill but we still dont know why such an expensive project would be located in the underdeveloped rural area.

“Yesterday I saw this hotel come to life and I felt very emotional. It was marvellous to see this come to life,” Armani, wearing a black T-shirt and beige trousers, told reporters at a news conference in the hotel in the Burj Khalifa.
He said his reaction when he was asked to design the hotel was one of surprise.
