McLaren unveiled its MP4-12C Spider, a cabriolet version of its 625-HP supercar, at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The 12C Spider is based on the MP4-12C, using the same chassis and propelled with the same powerful engine.
Built for speed, the supercar is just one notch below the model it was based on. “The Spider will sprint from 0-62mph as quickly as the Coupe (3.1 seconds) while losing only two tenths to 100mph (9 seconds plays 8.8).
Top speed is 204mph, against 207mph for the Coupe,” reported PistonHeads.com, and its fuel consumption and emissions haven’t changed.
The McLaren MP4-12C Spider is available to order for £195,500 (about €248,000), and the first vehicles out of the factory will start shipping in 2013.
