Due to the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, the release of the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 “Baroque Brown” is indefinitely postponed until further notice. The highly-anticipated pair of sneakers was originally scheduled to be released on December 16 to coincide with the holiday season.

The hype for Travis Scott’s upcoming Nike Air Max 1 sneaker has been building up since the start of the start in March. It was first teased on the sportswear company’s app SNKRS and that has sent fans into a frenzy.

These die-hard sneakerheads have been scouring Scott’s Instagram, paparazzi shots and even leak accounts for closer looks at the silhouette of the pair of sneakers. Then, Nike finally dropped official images for the sneakers — the designer of the shoes is inspired by the desert and trending workwear designs.

The colourway of the “Baroque Brown” is non-monochromatic unlike the tonal “Saturn Gold” Air Max 1. This pair sports a mix of dark brown, caramel and yellow shades. The earthy tone that characterises Scott’s preferred colour palette is exemplified in the “Baroque Brown” collection.

The most prominent feature of the “Baroque Brown” is the Nike Swoosh logo that has been reversed and fixed on the lateral side of the shoes. On the medial side, the logo faces the correct direction.

Its titular shade lines the interior of the shoes as well as its mudguard and heeltab, which are crafted in nubuck. The upper is in a shade of yellow while tongue and overlays are seen in nubuck wheat.

The Nike and Cactus Jack brandings are stamped on the heels of the shoes as a rubberised miniature flag. The branding extends to the inserts of the sneakers while the Nike Pocket Knife-influenced straps are seen around the top eyestay and around the heel.
