Christie’s to Auction Daniel Craig’s Aston Martin

Good news for those who are looking for a 2014 Centenary Edition Vanquish Aston Martin. The bespoke, midnight-blue 2014 Centenary Edition Vanquish with the car plate number 007, belonging to Actor Daniel Craig, will go on auction at The Exceptional Sale at Christie’s in New York on April 20.

All sales proceeds received will fund The Opportunity Network, a non-profit organisation, established to help young people in their career development.

Prior to the auction, the 2014 Centenary Edition Vanquish will go on display for a limited period at a gallery in Los Angeles from Feb 27 to March 3, 2018.

“This Aston Martin Vanquish is a tour de force of automobile engineering and a distinct pleasure to drive. While I will miss it, I am keen to further the very important work of The Opportunity Network with its sale.” – Actor Daniel Craig

Under Craig’s ownership, the limited-edition car had gone through modification works done by Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer. Only 100 examples of the Centenary Edition Vanquish were built in 2014 to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary. Designed and constructed at Aston’s manufacturing facility in Warwickshire, England, the Vanquish features a 6.0 litre, V12 petrol engine, and an automatic gearbox.

The vanquish features a lightweight structure as well as a motor-sport-inspired carbon-fibre exterior. In the interior, is a showcase of fine hand-stitched luxury leather, with carbon-fibre and aluminium elements. The Centenary Edition Vanquish has a top speed of 183mph.

This left-hand drive Centenary Edition Vanquish will be offered in The Exceptional Sale in New York, and it is expected to fetch an estimated value between $400,000-$600,000.

“We are thrilled at the chance to support Daniel Craig’s generosity to The Opportunity Network with the offer of this unique and gorgeous sports car,” says Becky MacGuire, the sale’s director.

“With its pristine condition, exceptional craftsmanship and impeccable provenance, the Aston Martin fits perfectly into Christie’s masterpiece sale. It’s like a 21st-century sculpture that comes equipped with an incredibly fine engine,” said MacGuire.
