When Parmigiani releases a new watch, collectors sit up and take notice. It’s no different in 2025, as the independent watchmaker unveils two stunning new references in its Tonda PF line, long considered the sportier, younger sibling of the Toric. Known for reinventing complications and remaking time, Parmigiani has demonstrated, over the past few years, that it can masterfully blend technical brilliance with sharp aesthetic chops.

The two new references, the PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet and the PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca, aren’t new models, but they debut in utterly captivating colourways. The PF GMT, first launched in 2022 as a quiet showcase of Parmigiani’s technical finesse, now arrives in a mesmerising new dial shade called Verzasca Green.

Inspired by the vivid hues of the Verzasca Valley in Ticino, famed for its emerald waters shaped by unique river chemistry, this timepiece pays tribute to a slice of Swiss paradise. While green may not be a typical neutral, here it presents in such a calming, elegant tone that pairs seamlessly with the cold polish of the stainless steel and platinum case. This is a GMT you could wear anywhere, from the boardroom to the boardwalk.

The dial is finished with a hand-guilloché Grain d’Orge pattern, providing a textured canvas that amplifies the timepiece’s quiet sophistication. Technically impressive yet visually understated, the PF GMT continues the quiet luxury legacy it began in 2022, when it earned accolades for its ingenuity and sleek discretion.

Functionality remains a priority. At first glance, you’ll see only the hour and minute hands. But press the button on the lower left, and the rose gold second time zone hand elegantly appears, its warm tone a striking contrast against the green dial. The rose gold pusher on the crown, too, is a delightful reminder of the attention to detail that Parmigiani lavishes on each timepiece. It’s simple, intuitive, and elegant.

Then there’s the PF Sport Chronograph, presented in a brand-new case material called Ultra-Cermet. A portmanteau of ceramic and metal, Cermet is a composite that combines the hardness of ceramic with the ductility of titanium. The result? A lightweight, ultra-strong case resistant to scratches — boasting a hardness of 1,450 Vickers — that delivers a distinctive metallic grey finish that’s both sporty and refined.

The dial, finished in a black gold-nickel deposit, absorbs light to create an intense, almost velvety black.
