Passengers with a penchant for online shopping will now be able to enjoy free access to eBay on some Delta Air Lines and Virgin America planes.

In-flight connectivity provider Gogo announced on August 13 that passengers will have unlimited access to the more than 300 million listings on the online auction and shopping site on all Gogo-equipped Delta Air Lines and Virgin America planes.

Starting this week, passengers will only need to connect to Gogo using a Wi-Fi enabled device, open their browser, and click on the eBay promotion page.

Online retailers have teamed up with members of the air industry in a bid to reach out to consumers during their flight downtime.

Delta announced a deal back in March with American giant Amazon.com to offer passengers the possibility to access amazon.com for free.

Gogo, available on various airlines such as Air Canada and US Airways, is already offering free access to online retailers like Zappos.com.

In-flight Wi-Fi is currently available for an average of $10 for up to three hours in over 1,700 planes in the US. According to In-sat, a research and consulting firm, in-flight Wi-Fi is used by 8 percent of passengers.
