The auction house Christie’s auctioned in Geneva on Monday a very special Rolex watch worn by Roger Moore, aka James Bond in the film “Live and Let Die”.
The James Bond Rolex watch comes complete with a buzz saw and a hyper-intensified magnetic field to deflect bullets.
“The watch is unique. It is the watch that Syd Cain — the famous engineer… had modified for the film, said the international director of Christie’s watches.


The Rolex 216670 Explorer II marks the 40th anniversary of the original Explorer II.
The case is enlarged to 42mm and houses the new Rolex caliber 3187 which is entirely designed and manufactured by Rolex.
The Caliber 3187 includes recent Rolex innovations such as Paraflex shock absorbers and parachrom hairspring.

China’s ever increasing economic clout has again been reflected in a survey on consumer tastes in luxury goods which has shown the nation not only knows what goods it wants, it most certainly now has the means by which to buy them.
A report released this week by Bain & Company has claimed China is now the fastest-growing consumer of leather goods and jewelry worldwide.
Its overall luxury market has grown 23 per cent this year, meaning it’s on target to reap some 84.3 billion yuan (9.2 billion euro).
But what the world really wants to know is what are the Chinese after. According to this report, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci are the most lusted-for brands.


Eight-time Le Mans winner and Danish driver Tom Kristensen was recently “knighted” as a Rolex ambassador.
Danish driver Kristensen has no less than eight Le Mans victories listed on his automotive résumé, which is two more than legendary driver Jacky Ickx.
This is the first time that Rolex has made the knighting of an ambassador public.


Rolex is refining its classics for 2010. The new Explorer I for 2010 has been given a slightly wider new dial (39mm) and comes complete with polished numeral indexes, and a whole heap of luxurious refinement.
In the watchmaking world, the Oyster is iconic and mythical. Introduced in 1926, it is the first waterproof wristwatch.


The much anticipated Rolex Explorer designed by fragment design via the Bamford Watch Department has gone on sale today.
The watch is available in black/blue and black/green at colette and goes for 15,000 €.
