
The Martha’s Vineyard estate that President Barack Obama and his family have rented for their past three summer vacations has sold to British architect Norman Foster for $22.4 million.
The property is known as Blue Heron Farm. It has 28½ acres of land in Chilmark, Mass., and an additional 3.8 acres in Tisbury.
The property includes two large homes, equestrian facilities, a tennis court, a basketball court and a par-three golf course.

Last week, Hong Kong-flag carrier Cathay Pacific unveiled its new lounge at Hong Kong International airport, promising a “new level of comfort and convenience.”
“The Cabin” is spread across 1,339 square meters and designed by Foster and Partners to be “contemporary, refreshing and dynamic.”
Passengers can choose between 5 zones designed for different purposes, including The Reception, The IT Zone, The Deli, The Health Bar, and The Relaxing Zone.


Spanish hotel group Sol Melia is to open a landmark hotel in London ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, it announced this past week.
The ME London hotel will open in London’s Aldwych, close to Holborn, Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, in a landmark building previously occupied by the BBC and Marconi Company.
The hotel is slated to open in 2012 with 172 rooms designed by British architect Norman Foster, the man behind Hong Kong International Airport, Beijing Capital’s International Terminal and London’s “Gherkin” building.


The Lord Foster designed 41m Ocean Emerald has been launched at Porto Lotti Marina near La Spezia in Italy on 25th April.
The $24 million yacht is the first in a series of four identical super yachts being built for the YachtPlus fractional ownership programme.
Ocean Emerald is a startling departure in design from the more traditional motor yacht at least on the outside.
