Montblanc celebrates the 18th-century renaissance man’s achievements in the field of science with the Writers Edition Homage to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Limited Edition 8.​

The band of lacquer inlays encircling the cone is inspired by the colors Goethe observed during his experiments with glass prisms. Around the cap and barrel, the inlays of ebony wood, white and pink mother-of-pearl, lapis lacquer, and jasper lacquer symbolize his rich collection of minerals and stones.​
