Earlier today, Kering announced the appointment of Antonio Calce as Sowind Group’s new CEO. Kering is a majority (50.1%) shareholder of The Sowind Group, which owns the Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard brands. Calce’s responsibilities will include the management of these two brands, including their manufacturing activities. In turn, he will report to Albert Bensoussan, CEO of Kering’s “Luxury – Watches & Jewellery” division.

Calce is an Italian national who started his career with the Richemont group as the head of Piaget’s technical department. He moved onto product management with the manufacture, before being appointed director of operations and product development with Panerai. Calce moved on to Corum in 2005, where he acted as vice president of operations and CEO successively.
