Now in pink gold, this watch first released last year has a perpetual calendar and therefore, only a full calendar display would suffice for this novelty. Present are a peripheral month ring around the edge of the dial, as well as moon phase and leap year indicators. Accuracy and precision are always prime concerns with A. Lange & Söhne, and this Lange 1 is no exception. Therefore, the watch can be expected to remain accurate until the moon phase needs to be adjusted. But that time is a very long time away as the moon phase indicator needs no adjustments for the next 122.6 years. Also, the perpetual calendar works all the way until the year 2100 when an adjustment is also needed.

A cursory glance may not provide enlightenment, but within this Lange 1 hides a tourbillon cage. If you look closer, you can see that it is humbly announced on the dial, and yet the Calibre L082.1 actually contains a most impressive version of that major complication. In actuality, a stop seconds mechanism has been added to the movement to allow the braking of the tourbillon cage. This means that when the crown is pulled out, the tourbillon cage is stopped to allow for the accurate setting of time. Like all Lange watches, one can predict that the watch is exquisitely decorated. Furthermore, the tourbillon here has received a special treatment of black polish on its upper cage. The bearing of the cage has a diamond endstone reminiscent of historic 1A pocket watches from the brand’s past.
