A Cartier jewelry store in Cannes, France, was robbed Monday morning by three armed men who fled with a haul estimated at up to 15 million euros.

A man with a deep suntan and wearing a flowery shirt walked into the Cartier store in Cannes and threatened staff with a gun.

Two accomplices wearing crash helmets then entered the store, which is near the Carlton hotel popular with Hollywood stars during the Cannes film festival.

They took jewels from glass display cases before fleeing along Cannes’ famous Croisette promenade on scooters after the raid on Monday.

Police said the total value of the stolen jewels could be as high as $21 million with some single items worth 1.5 million dollars alone, Telegraph UK report.

They said they were investigating whether the men could be part of the notorious Pink Panther gang, which has carried out a spate of spectacular jewellery thefts across Europe in recent months.
