Fullerton Heritage’s Giovanni Viterale Knighted

The General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage is awarded the Order Of The Star of Italy.

The Fullerton Heritage now has an Italian knight overseeing its management so we will address him as Cavaliere. Bestowed with the title last week, Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale (pictured above with his family), General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage is the man in charge of the seven landmark buildings that offer exceptional hospitality to guests. Few have been lucky enough to receive the Order of the Star of Italy for their outstanding achievements since it was introduced in 2011.

To meet the criteria, individuals are to have preserved the Italian spirit and promoted Italy abroad. Before the President of the Italian Republic honours their achievements, the potential candidate is nominated by the Embassy of Italy and subsequently proposed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Viterale was presented with his title and award during a ceremony at the residence of the Ambassador of Italy. The golden shield bordered in blue has a depiction of the embelm of the Republic at the centre. The medal is inscribed with the words “Stella D’Italia” in gold letters.

Viterale, from Salerno on Italy’s Amalfi coast, is considered a veteran in the hospitality industry with 15 years of experience in Hong Kong alone. Before moving to Singapore in 2010 to become the general manager of The Fullerton Heritage, he was the Resident Manager of the Conrad Hotel Hong Kong. Since taking over the reins at The Fullerton Heritage, Viterale has seen the hotel receive numerous international awards from the likes of Condé Nast Traveller and Forbes.
