This is what a $900 cupcake looks like
The world’s most expensive cupcake was sold for $900 with ingredients including diamond sprinkles and 24-karat gold leaf.
Created by Le Dolci bakery in Toronto, the extravagant cupcake is thought to be the world’s most expensive, beating the current record holder being the $750 Decadence D’Or cupcake at Las Vegas’ The Palazzo.
The pricey pud was commissioned by a man who wanted to create a unique and personalised cupcake for his wife’s 40th birthday.
After a few days of brainstorming, the pastry team came up with a concoction made with some of the most expensive ingredients in the world, including Krug Collection Brut champagne, 24-karat gold leaves, and a limited edition Courvoisier.
If you also love your wife (or husband) some $900-worth of chocolate and vanilla, Le Dolci will make the cupcake via special order.
