11 Paper Place

Daniel Houghton and his team create a paper world for paper protagonists in a charming animated short

11 Paper Place is an animated short film by Daniel Houghton that dives deep into the bottom of our average recycling bins. The charming short was made entirely through Blender, the open-source 3D animation suite. It is ‘a love story about two 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper that magically transform into paper people as they are spit out of a malfunctioning printer into a recycling bin’. Houghton and his team painstakingly create an extremely convincing world with cars, buildings, stairs and trees all made of paper. The project was made by Houghton and his team for their thesis project at Middlebury College.
