In 2016, Lego debuted an amazing Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS which hit the markets with great success. Finally, Lego is back this year with an stunningly intricate new car creation.

Released just this year, the new Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is the perhaps the most impressive Lego creation to date.

Made up of 3599 pieces, which is about 1,000 more than the Porsche, making it a more time consuming Lego project. A rough 1:8 scale, the highly detailed model measures 14cm high, 56cm long and 25cm wide. From blocky LED lights and wide light bar at the rear, to the trademark horseshoe design, the designers at Lego have nailed it down to the finest detail.

Opening the doors and hood of the car, you’ll find a proper suspension that utilises a spring system, with a steering wheel that is connected to the front wheels.

Under the hood, a W16 engine has moving pistons and is hooked up to a 8-speed sequential transmission that mirrors the real car. Going as functional as a plastic model can get, even the transmission can be shifted by the paddles on the driver’s side. A ‘high-speed key’ also allows the rear wing to move up and down.

Beyond the intricacy of the model, the beauty of this Lego Technic creation extends to even beyond the chassis of the car. Each car has a unique serial number and comes with a Bugatti-branded overnight bag – small enough to fit into a luggage.

This Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is quite a task to take on, but the final build is absolutely a stunning piece that will be worth the time and effort. Currently only available through online retail in Australia,  LEGO says the 2018 Bugatti Chiron be available in retailers after August 1.
