Sex.com, one of the most expensive domain names in history, is up for auction, with bidding starting at $1 million, the Telegraph reports. The domain name was last bought in 2006 for a reported $14 million, and it’s not even the most expensive URL out there!

While the current market for internet domains is nowhere as solid as it was during the dot-com peak, the market remains strong and is experiencing solid growth.

Each year tens of millions of dollars are exchanged during the resale of domains. So what are the others in the top 10?

1. Insure.com 2009 $16 million
The domain name reportedly sold to QuinStreet for $16 million in 2009. The website provides life, car and health insurance quotes among others.

2. Sex.com 2006 $14 million

Bought by Gary Kremen, the founder of dating website Match.com, in 1994. Has been the subject of a lengthy legal battle, but took the prize for the highest report domain price in 2006. Is now up for auction.

3. Fund.com 2008 £9.99 million
Publicly traded Internet company that operates in the financial services.
Provides information on investment fund options, gives expert opinion and lets users build portfolios.

4. Porn.com 2007 $9.5 million

5. Business.com 1999 $7.5 million
A business search engine and web directory is at number five for fetching$345 million in 2007 when it was bought by Yellow Pages publisher RH Donnelly.
