Recovering an entire multi-storey building of 500’s located in the consolidated urban tissue of the city of Mantua, a container of designers of Italian-based Archiplan Studio, whom are determined to uncover innovative solutions for public, private, residential, and commercial contemporary living, have since blessed the neighborhood with the luxuriously new-and-improved Casa RJ apartment.

Characterized by its intricate decorations which line the ceilings, and the maintenance of walls which date as far back as the 1500’s and first half of the 1800’s – thus layering signs of ambiguity without drawing a philological selection. Seamlessly blending ‘old’ elements with ‘new’ accents, the 2,475 sq.ft Casa RJ apartment embodies a theatrical romanticism, visually widened by the inclusion of enormous glass partitions and additional doorways.

Spanning across two levels, the apartment features a whimsical indoor stairway barricaded by an overarching glass entrance – appearing to be something out of a fairytale. Incorporating much of its original material, the Casa RJ apartment showcases both functionality and artistic value, layering new details and decorative devices over old elements without erasing history, forcing a claustrophobic feel or shielding natural light.
