Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has been named the top luxury hotel in the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study.

The Four Seasons bumped The Ritz-Carlton hotel group which has held first place on the list for the past two years.

And Four Seasons customers don’t even mind paying more according to Michael Drago, director of the global hospitality and travel practice at J.D. Power.

“The average spent per night on room rates and fees is more than 10% greater at the Four Seasons than at the Ritz, and yet the satisfaction is dramatically higher,” he said.

The study looked at overall hotel guest satisfaction across six hotel segments from luxury to budget.

The most-desired amenities include complimentary breakfast, wireless Internet access and pillow-top mattresses.

In luxury hotels a high percentage of guests say they expect in-room high-definition flat-panel TVs,

Might be time to consider booking with Four Seasons instead of Ritz Carlton : )
