International pioneers in the aerospace industry and leader of designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products – French-German company, Airbus unveiled its latest blended wing airplane at the ongoing 2020 Singapore Air Show.
The Latest Blended Wing Airbus ‘MAVERIC’ Will Cut Carbon Emissions By 20%
Cutting carbon emissions by up to 20%, the innovative Airbus, dubbed the ‘MAVERIC’ boasts a minimized aerodynamic drag, and palatial cabin. Leaving room for the future integration of various propulsion systems, the MAVERIC demonstrator showcased in Singapore is a small-scale, remote-controlled aircraft used for validation and experimentation of robust innovative controls.
Measuring two meters long and three meters wide, the MAVERIC was built for luxury and comfort as much as innovation, with its central body featuring a shielded engine, ensuring significantly muted noise, while its blended wing body design offers passengers substantial legroom, larger aisles and an increased sense of personal space.
Despite its fairly recent unveil, Airbus has reported ongoing test flights of the MAVERIC from a secret location in central France since June 2019, and has announced the continuation of further testing for airport integration and cabin adaptability till mid-2020.
