SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS has been making waves lately, with the anticipation building for the inaugural luxury lifestyle event, from October 20-23, 2016. Ahead of the actual show, the organizers gave the media and partners a glimpse of what the show will actually be like.

You can read all about what’s coming up at SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS but nothing beats experiencing, which is what happened at the press conference for the event. Normally, we don’t discuss press events in depth but this one deserves special treatment. Ok, given our relationship to the event, you would expect us to trumpet it but this preview is worth it.singaporerendezvous_rafflesmarina_14092016wed_mg_1049

First of all, the entire press event took place aboard the Royal Albatross, the fine tall ship that will be making the SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS its port of call. The sailing yacht went out to sea for the duration of the preview, giving everyone the chance to sit back and absorb the activities, just as if they were visiting the main event itself.

Actually, we have to back up just a little here because on this occasion, media and partners were ferried to Raffles Marina by SGMaxi.cab. This was a fun and hassle-free way to begin the day and it set just the right tone. Ok, back aboard the Royal Albatross then!

Perrier-Jouët presented its plans for SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS  – well just enough to tease the special vintage the brand is showcasing there – and served its Belle Époque Autumn 2005 vintage to get everyone into the swing of things.

Wine technology start-up Epicurio followed up with a presentation of a tasting of red and white wines, which was a preview of the Epicurio Wine Fair taking place at SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS. Once this was done, everyone was well and truly ready to kick back and enjoy the sailing experience.

In a clever twist, the entertainment kicked off with a surprise performance by a singer from Opera Dinner by SingExperience. When she began singing, you could tell that most people thought the sound system on the ship was just really impressive! Opera Dinner by SingExperience will of course be repeating this wonderful performance at SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS.

Less spontaneous but no less impressive was a dance performance organized by PlanitSwiss – right on the main deck of the yacht – and a few musical numbers from the energetic Band on the Run. Band on the Run will be part of the official entertainment during SINGAPORE RENDEZVOUS of course and there are various dance performances slated too.singaporerendezvous_rafflesmarina_14092016wed_mg_1259

Finally, when the Royal Albatross pulled into Raffles Marina in the evening, nobody wanted to leave! Happily, the good folks at SGMaxi.cab were on hand to make the return to reality as painless as possible.
