Audi has announced a special edition of its R8 V8 vehicle, created in honor of the brand’s tenth victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race which took place June 11-12.
Drivers André Lotterer, Marcel Fassler and Benoît Treluyer took Audi to victory with an R8 at the gruelling endurance race, edging in ahead of a Peugeot 908.
It’s the second year that Audi has beaten Peugeot to first place in the race, although the French automaker managed to take third, fourth and fifth places.

Eight-time Le Mans winner and Danish driver Tom Kristensen was recently “knighted” as a Rolex ambassador.
Danish driver Kristensen has no less than eight Le Mans victories listed on his automotive résumé, which is two more than legendary driver Jacky Ickx.
This is the first time that Rolex has made the knighting of an ambassador public.

Talk about pimping your ride. US pop artist Jeff Koons’ latest work is a BMW M3 GT2 decorated with exploding, multi-colored rays.
Unveiled by Koons in New York on Tuesday, the car will compete this June at the Le Mans 24 Hours road race in France.
The garish work is number 17 in a series dating back to 1975 in which famous contemporary artists, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and David Hockney, have painted BMWs ahead of Le Mans.
