Asia-Pacific Boating magazine is releasing its highly anticipated and sought-after Top 50 Superyachts of Asia listing in the coming November-December issue.
This one-of-a-kind listing draws together the biggest and most luxurious yachts of the region, from India to the South Pacific, and from Indonesia to Japan.
The 2008 edition saw the entry of the 95-metre Indian Empress, the personal yacht of Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya, entering the list at number one.

Asia-Pacific Boating celebrates 33 years of being on the water in Asia with a special edition for September-October.
In the coming issue, the editors and staff will offer a retrospective of some of their favourite destination photos in Asia.
Regular columnists will also be writing in with their views on how luxury yachting and yacht racing have evolved over the last three-and-a-third decades.

In a report published in November 2008, the World Bank picked Singapore as the example of successful urban development.
The bank highlighted some of the key factors that enabled this tiny island-country to move from its industrial beginnings to a modern, livable city.
Two of these factors were: master-planning with the right dose of flexibility, and political continuity, which is a good thing only if the government knows what it is doing. In this case, that worked just fine.

Singapore was crowned Asia’s Maritime Capital at the fifth edition of the Asia Boating Awards, held at the prestigious Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Shanghai.
This is the second time the Lion City has been awarded the sought-after accolade – last year’s prize went to Qingdao, China.
The award recognises the tremendous effort that has been put into turning that city into a sailing and boating hub.

The editorial staff of Asia-Pacific Boating magazine are now accepting nominations for the Asia Boating Awards, to be held on April 17, 2009, in conjunction with the China International Boat Show in Shanghai.
Readers of LUXUO are invited to submit their favourite boats, builders, places and personalities in 21 categories on a dedicated website with an easy-to-use, online form.
The awards recognize the best in Asian boating. Among the honours are awards for best motor yachts in four size ranges, awards for best sailing yachts, and new to this year, best racing yacht.
