It is difficult to unwind at the end of a long day when your legs hurt from either running around or sitting for long periods of time. In most instances, the legs can be left looking swollen and feel heavy. To combat these issues and ensure that your legs are not the most neglected part of your body, Sisley has introduced the new White Ginger Contouring Oil. While the product will be launched in April, we had the chance to find out more about the product and how it works.

Before we go into the benefits of treating your skin to this body oil, we touch on the basics of the smell, texture and residue that help make a skincare product a hit or miss.  As the name suggests, the body oil smells of ginger with a hint of floral notes.

Far from overpowering the senses, the scent helped me to feel calm and relaxed. A little bit goes a long way here, so you may want to start with a small amount if the oil as you apply it. Start with the arch of your foot and work your way up in circular motions. As your reach your calf, Sisley recommends massaging in the oil with alternating hands with firm upwards pressure that stimulates drainage. Continue this step until you reach your hips, and then repeat it three times on each leg.

If that seems like too much work, then maybe the benefits of using the oil will help convince you that this is worth investing in. According to Sisley, the oil does not just leave your legs looking softer and nourished. Instead, it also tones and sculpts the legs while soothing and alleviating swollen ankles and heavy legs. Targeting the effects of Micro and Macro-compression, the brand’s first body oil is the perfect excuse to treat each evening like your own little spa day in the comfort of your home.

There are four main actions that ensure results. The first is the drainage action that uses White Ginger extract and Ginkgo biloba to alleviate swollen tissues for lighter legs. With the help of Gelidium cartilagineum and Cedrol the oil is able to promote fat burning that is behind the sculpting action. To aid in the toning action are essential oils such as Rosemary and Litsea cubeba that have stimulating properties. The final action is beautifying action that uses Shea, Macadamia and Aniroba oils to give your skin that luxurious and velvety feel.
