Avant garde Swiss luxury watchmaker MB&F and high-end clock maker L’Epée 1839 have collaborated to create the Melchior Robot Clock.

founder Max Busser says he’s wanted a robotic friend ever since he was a Star Wars-obsessed child, so he jumped on the opportunity to finally create one for his brand’s 10th anniversary.

MELCHIOR – MB&F by L’Epée 1839

Melchior is an impressive kinetic robot which also happens to be an impeccably finished, 480-component mechanical table clock.

Melchior is the robot buddy you would want by your side while trying to thwart Darth Vader – he’s got smart steel and brass armour, an enigmatic glint in his eyes, animated brain and muscular, articulated arms – the right one packing a rocket launcher, the left a Gatling gun.

But look again and you can see Melchior is also a majestic high-end table clock featuring jumping hours, sweeping minutes, double retrograde seconds and a 40-day power reserve.

With only a limited 99-piece production run, the L’Epée x MB&F Melchior Robot Clock is now available for purchase at MB&F.
